Our Costs

We try to keep the costs of your care package as simple as possible. We understand that the financial side of things can sometimes seem a little daunting and we therefore aim to be clear and consise with regard to all aspects of paying for your care package from day one.

To discuss your specific needs, requirements and expectations, one of our Key Workers will visit you in your home for an initial assessment and ascertain the level of care required. Once this has been established, we will be in a position to quote you for the cost of your individual care package based on the services you require and your personal circumstances.

Self-Funded Care

Individuals requiring a level of care or support day-to-day who are not eligible for funding from the Local Authority are known as ‘self-funded’. This term broadly means that because you have income, savings or assets above the savings threshold in England of £23,250, you are not entitled to funding in respect of your care.

costs of social care

With self-funded care, individuals are charged privately for their individual care package. The details and terms of payment are discussed and agreed with your Key Worker upon initial visit to your home.

Whilst most of our care services are charged on an hourly basis, qualifying care plans which amount to a significant number of care hours per week may qualify for a discounted rate.

Keep Track of Your Finances

It is important to keep track of your finances. If your income changes or your savings drop to a level below the threshold, you may find you become eligible for funding assistance for the care you previously funded yourself.

The Government is making some significant changes to the law and how people who self-fund their care are supported. Subject to further legislation being finalised, it is proposing to make changes to the amount that people will have to pay towards their lifetime care and support costs, by introducing a 'cap on care costs'. These changes are scheduled to take place in April 2020.
