Care in the Community

‘Community’ is absolutely central to the wellbeing of individuals, particularly those who may be more vulnerable than others. Communities provide a support network to those vulnerable individuals who are impacted by the daily stress, struggles and chaos of day to day life. A sense of community is fundamental to creating a sense of belonging. Just as food and shelter is a basic human need, a sense of belonging is also important. It allows you to see value in everyday life.

Local Events

We believe it is everyone’s responsibility to look out for each other and ensure a level of care and compassion to those in the community around us. Something as simple as a coffee, a slice of cake and a chat can lift someone’s spirit and brighten their day. As such, at Help at Home Care, we are committed to promoting and hosting events in the local area.

Keep up to date with any local community events on our Facebook page.

Loneliness and Isolation

Loneliness can have a significant effect on our mental health and well-being. Research has shown it can increase the likelihood of developing various health conditions such as depression, dementia, heart disease and diabetes. At Help at Home Care, we endeavour to do what we can to support those suffering from loneliness or isolation by getting involved with the local community. Our focus is always person-centred, both through the service we provide, but also through the provision of information, advice and assistance with regard to local community events and activities.

“Although most people need some kind of social contact to maintain good mental health, everyone has different social needs. You may be someone who is content with a few close friends, or you may need a large group of varied acquaintances to feel satisfied.” – Mind
