Home Care Supervisor
We are seeking compassionate people to join our growing team in North and South Tyneside and now require a Home Care Supervisor to assist in leading a team. Experience in a supervisory role is not essential but evidence of leadership qualities is desirable.
Contracted Hours: - Full Time / Part Time
Location: - North and South Tyneside
Duties may include, but are not limited to: -
- Co-ordinate, plan and supervise the day to day running of the homecare services and ensure the appointment of appropriately skilled staff to the relevant service user;
- Ensure service users receive a continuously high standard of care whilst simultaneously supporting and promoting their rights and dignity;
- Ensure the services are delivered in line with company policy and procedures;
- Identify areas of improvement within the business to meet and exceed the requirements of the Care Quality Commission and direct suggested action plans to the Registered Manager;
- Identify any training needs and liaise with Registered Manager to ensure training is provided where appropriate. Ensure all staff are up to date with best practice;
- Ensure any on-call matters are dealt with in a timely and appropriate manner, including dealing with staff absence or sickness, including re-allocation of staff to cover shifts;
- Manage client / staff complaints or concerns and refer to Registered Manager where appropriate;
- Monitor and supervise health and safety in the workplace at all levels and ensure staff are aware of their responsibilities;
- Ensure an investigation and reporting procedure is followed in relation to any incidents which occur in line with legal requirements;
- Ensure appropriate level of supervision and leadership is adopted within the team;
- Assist service users in all matters of personal care, including, dressing/undressing, washing, bathing and using toilet facilities;
- Assist with the preparation, cooking and serving of meals, snacks and drinks;
- Carry out general housework as required, including changing beds, laundry, ironing, tidying and light cleaning duties;
- Provide company and mental stimulation, including participation in activities as required by the service user, including games, hobbies or other recreational activities;
- Provide a chaperone service to accompany the service user to appointments, day trips, outings, shopping or any other general errands outside the home;
- Assist with any clerical / communication needs such as making phone calls, paying bills, filling in forms;
- Encourage and oversee the management of any medication or administer such medication where required;
- Monitor health-related conditions such as diet and fluids, keeping records where required;
- Respond to any emergency response within a timely and efficient manner;
- Ensure relevant notes, information and records are kept and maintained and handovers are duly carried out to pass on relevant information where necessary;
- Ensure a good line of communication between all parties within the business at all times.
