Medical Assistance

Medication can be a lifeline to good health and wellbeing. However, it can sometimes be difficult managing or administering the medicines you require on a daily basis. This could be difficult for many reasons, including issues such as memory issues, vision or social isolation.

It may be that you require a general level of support and assistance which includes reminders and monitoring of your medication, or it may be that you require a level of support to physically administer medication. The levels of support required from adult to adult vary greatly, some requiring substantial support for specialised techniques.

Depending on the level of care and assistance you require, our Home Care Assistants assigned to you will be be fully trained and equipped to meet your needs as required, always aligning our service with your schedule and requirements.

Dietary Requirements

Eating the correct food and ensuring an adequate intake of fluids is vitally important to maintaining good health and wellbeing. At Help at Home Care, we recognise the importance of maintaining a healthy diet. As you would imagine, this is particularly important if you have an existing medical condition which requires a specific diet, or if you’re recovering from an illness or operation.

Individual choice is always paramount to the care service we provide and our Home Care Assistants will always encourage and promote a healthy diet and adequate hydration, whilst simultaneously ensuring that mealtimes are as enjoyable as possible. We take into account any individual specific nutritional needs. This includes allergies to certain foods or conditions such as diabetes.

Malnutrition can be caused by various triggers such as some diseases, medicines if they interfere with your body's ability to take in nutrients, problems with dentures making eating difficult, problems with swallowing and chewing, lack of appetite, loss of smell or taste or depression. If you aren't getting enough nutrients, your medical treatment may not work.
